About Maryna

Maryna Voroshylo is a self-taught artist based in Ukraine, whose work explores light as both presence and direction.

She has been drawing since childhood, beginning with graphite portraits created throughout her school and college years. While studying and working in architecture, she developed a strong sense of composition, structure, and space, a foundation that continues to shape her paintings today.

Her return to art in 2022 was not a decision, but a necessity — a way to step into a quieter, safer inner world. What began as a personal refuge soon became a clear path. By 2023, she fully devoted herself to painting.

Working primarily with seascapes, Maryna creates more than seascapes — she creates emotional spaces. Her work moves between stillness and intensity, clarity and searching, holding a quiet tension between storm and light.

Light is the central force in her paintings. It does not simply illuminate, it transforms. It becomes a subtle guide within each piece, carrying a sense of movement, hope, and direction.

Her work is not about the sea itself, but about what it evokes: the depth, the contrast, the feeling of standing at the edge of something vast and unknown, yet quietly certain that there is a way forward.

Her work invites the viewer to pause and quietly find their own light.
